John Peters is an accomplished pianist, organist, producer, educator, and recording artist whose versatility and musical excellence have made him one of the most respected musicians in gospel and contemporary music. A native of the Bronx, New York, John discovered his passion for music at an early age. Although he began playing guitar and bass, it was the organ and piano that became his true calling.
Determined to expand beyond the traditional boundaries of church music, he immersed himself in jazz, studying the artistry of legendary musicians including Jimmy Smith, Bud Powell, Chick Corea, Bobby Lyle, Russell Ferrante, and Oscar Peterson.
